If you’re searching for the perfect spot for your family portraits in Rancho Cucamonga, you’re in luck — the Inland Empire is full of gorgeous locations that most photographers haven’t even discovered yet. After years of shooting families across the area, I’ve found a handful of spots that consistently produce stunning, natural images no matter the season.
The Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter Area
The area around Victoria Gardens and the surrounding trails offers beautiful open space with mature trees, golden light in the late afternoon, and enough variety to get multiple looks in a single session. It’s also incredibly convenient for families coming from across the IE.
Red Hill Community Park
This is one of my personal favorites. The rolling hills, open meadows, and beautiful tree canopy make it ideal for candid family portraits. The light hits perfectly in the hour before sunset, and there’s plenty of room for kids to run around between shots — which honestly produces the best
images anyway.
Etiwanda Falls Trail Area
For families who want something a little more adventurous and dramatic, the Etiwanda area offers rugged natural beauty that photographs beautifully. It requires a bit more walking but the backdrops are unlike anything else in the IE.
Day Creek Boulevard Corridor
The tree-lined streets and landscaped areas along Day Creek offer a clean, classic backdrop that works especially well for headshots and smaller family sessions. The architecture and greenery balance each other perfectly.
Your Own Backyard or Home
Don’t overlook this one. Lifestyle sessions in your own space — your kitchen, your living room, your backyard — capture something that no park ever can: your actual life. These sessions tend to produce the most emotional, meaningful images because the environment is already loaded
with memory.
