Privacy policy
Effective October 2, 2026
Monstera Lissome Photography is a family, headshot and brand photography business run by Christina Scheumack in Rancho Cucamonga, California. This page explains what information this website collects, why, who helps me handle it, and the choices you have. The short version: I only collect what I need to reply to you and run my business, and I never sell your personal information.
What I collect
Information you give me
- Contact form: your name, email, phone (optional), session type, preferred date, your message, and how you heard about me.
- Free guides: your first name and email.
- Newsletter: your email and, if you share it, your first name.
- Style quiz: your answers and the email you send your results to.
- Client gallery login: the email address you sign in with.
Information collected automatically
- Pages you visit, roughly where you are (city or region), your device and browser type, and the website or search that brought you here. This comes from the analytics tools described below.
- When you send the contact form, the page you first arrived on and the page you were on just before the form. This tells me which pages are helpful. It is stored with your inquiry.
How I use it
- To reply to your inquiry, plan and book your session, and deliver your photos.
- To send you the guide, quiz results or newsletter you asked for. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand which pages and articles are useful, so I can improve the website.
- To keep the website secure and stop spam.
Who helps me handle it
I use a small number of trusted services to run this website and my business. They handle your information only to provide their service to me:
- Website hosting and analytics (Vercel)
- A secure database for inquiries and sign-ups (Supabase)
- Email delivery and my email newsletter provider
- Website analytics (Google Analytics, described below)
- Spam protection on the contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile, described below)
- Website usage insights (Microsoft Clarity, described below)
- Booking, contracts and payments (HoneyBook) and photo galleries (Pixieset). When you use those, their own privacy policies also apply.
I do not sell your personal information, and I don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing. I may disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
- Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and see how people use the site. Google’s own explanation is at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Vercel Analytics counts page views without using cookies.
- Microsoft Clarity records how visitors scroll, click and move through pages, and creates heatmaps, so I can see where the site is confusing. It uses cookies for this. What you type into forms is hidden from these recordings. Microsoft’s privacy statement is at microsoft.com/privacy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that contact form submissions come from a real person. It looks at basic browser and device signals and does not use advertising cookies. Cloudflare’s privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- Guide access: when you unlock a free guide, a cookie remembers that on your device for up to one year so you don’t have to sign up again.
- Client gallery login uses what’s needed to keep you signed in.
- The page tracking for the contact form uses your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works, though you may need to unlock a guide again.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, so this site does not currently change its behavior when it receives one. The Google Analytics opt-out above is the most reliable way to stop analytics tracking.
Photos of you
I only share session photos in my portfolio, blog or social media with permission. If you’d like a photo of you or your family taken down, email me and I’ll remove it.
How long I keep it
I keep inquiry and client information for as long as I need it to work with you and to meet my business and tax record-keeping obligations. Newsletter and guide sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.
Your choices
You can ask me to show you, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you by emailing hello@monsteralissome.com. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link at the bottom of each one.
Children
This website is meant for adults. I don’t knowingly collect information online from children under 13. Photos of children are taken only at sessions booked by their parent or guardian.
Keeping it safe
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and the information you send is stored with services that restrict who can access it. No website is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect what you share.
Changes
If I change this policy, I’ll update it here and change the effective date at the top.
