What to Expect from a Business Headshot Session in the Inland Empire

A great headshot can change how people perceive you professionally. Here's exactly what to expect from a headshot session with me — from preparation to final images.

April 26, 2026

A headshot is often the first impression you make — on LinkedIn, on your company website, on a press release, on a business card. It should look like you at your best: confident, approachable, and real. Not stiff. Not over-retouched. Not like you're being processed through a corporate photo assembly line.

Before the session

After you book, I send a short prep guide covering what to wear, how to prepare, and what to expect on the day. The short version on wardrobe: solid colors photograph better than patterns, business casual almost always works better than formal, and whatever you wear should make you feel confident and like yourself. If you're not sure, bring two or three options and we'll choose on the day.

One thing I always tell headshot clients: don't get a dramatic new haircut the week before. Give yourself at least two weeks after any significant style change so you look like the version of yourself you're used to seeing.

The session itself

Headshot sessions run 45–60 minutes. We typically shoot in one or two locations — either outdoors in a location suited to your industry and personal brand, or against a simple clean background if that's more appropriate for your field.

I shoot a lot of headshots outdoors because natural light is more flattering than studio lighting for most people, and because an outdoor environment tends to relax clients faster than a studio setting. If you've ever felt stiff and awkward in front of a camera — most people have — a relaxed outdoor session usually fixes that within the first ten minutes.

I'll guide you through the whole session. You don't need to know how to pose. That's my job.

Industries I work with frequently

I photograph professionals across a wide range of industries across the Inland Empire and greater Southern California — real estate agents, attorneys, healthcare professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, coaches, therapists, and more.

After the session

You'll receive a sneak peek of one or two edited images within 24 hours. Your full gallery of 15–25 carefully edited images arrives within one week. Images are delivered in high-resolution via a private online gallery, ready for web and print use.

Investment

Business headshot sessions start at $250 for a 45–60 minute session with 15–25 images. Team headshot rates are available for groups of three or more — reach out for a custom quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a headshot session take?

Most headshot sessions run 45–60 minutes. That's enough time to shoot multiple looks and locations while keeping the session focused and efficient.

How many final images will I receive?

You'll receive 15–25 carefully edited, high-resolution images delivered via private online gallery within one week of your session.

Should I get a haircut before my headshot session?

If you're planning a haircut, do it at least two weeks before your session. You want to look like the version of yourself you're used to seeing, not a brand new look you're still adjusting to.

Do you shoot headshots outdoors or in a studio?

I primarily shoot outdoors using natural light, which is more flattering for most people and creates a more relaxed environment. Indoor options are available for specific industries or preferences.

Do you offer team headshots for businesses?

Yes — I offer team headshot packages for groups of three or more. These are popular with real estate teams, law firms, healthcare practices, and small businesses across the Inland Empire. Contact me for a custom quote.
